Heard an interesting from Detective Conan: “If that woman really does know, there’s only one reason why she won’t say so. She’s waiting. Waiting to hear it directly from your lips.” You can generalize that to be, “If a woman finds out your secret, the only reason why she won’t confront you about it, is because she’s waiting to hear it directly from you.” I’m wondering if the same applies to men. Though there is also the possibility that the woman wants to live in denial, but that isn’t the case here. If saying Detective Conan isn’t enough hint for you, the woman (or girl) in which Hattori Heji is referring to is Ran and the secret, awwww common, you must know it by now.
Episodes 188 to 193 was a very cute and short series called Desperate Revival. No images will be provided and it’ll probably be the only entry of Detective Conan where I’ll throw in spoilers and a summary.
Spoilers: (Show)
The show starts off with the semi-repetitive plot where the bunch of young kids go camping and they start exploring and somehow they end up witnessing a murder in a cave. But this time, Conan gets wounded. I don’t recall Conan ever getting shot at before. In fact, he was unable to operate after a period of time and the remainder of the shounen tantei (少年探偵 – young detectives) had to figure out where Conan left them. They managed to escape, but Conan was in critical condition after losing so much blood.
Things have been wacky to being with, because Conan felt that Ran was acting weird toward him and suspected she may have figured out the truth. But that was hit right on the head when the hospital didn’t have any more blood that matched Conan’s and Ran shouted out that her blood is the same type as his.
Heji arrives to see his wounded friend and tells him there’s really no other choice besides telling her the truth, unless he can split and deceive her with a double. Haibara pulls a weird trick trying to look like she was going to murder Conan, but says he really has a 3rd option, which she whispers into his ear.
Conan gets better and attends the play that Ran’s high school was performing. It really sucked for me at thsi point because I’ve seen a movie where one of the characters will be revealed to be a super bad guy later on, but I won’t say anything here so that you might enjoy this little series. Someone apparently dies in the middle of the play and Inspector Megure finds the shinigami (死神 – death god) in the crowd, who is Ran’s father.
Heji at this point tries to act out as Kudo and starts to solve the case. However, his accent was undeniable, and his girl immediately identified him as Heji with white powder on his face. Heji gives up and admits that it was just a joke. He tries to talk to Conan, but he doesn’t respond.
There’s also this mysterious black knight in the play. Ran thought he was her sensei, but I thought otherwise. I really got it all wrong, but like I said, I knew there was a bad guy in the crowd, who just happens not to do anything in this series. Then the SUPER SUPRISE! Kudo Shinichi (Conan’s real form) appears behind the black knight’s mask. I’m like, is this Kaitou Kid? Then it turns out that Conan was really Haibara in disguise and she had given him another pill she was working on.
The last time this happened was when they drank that rice wine. Ai-kun apparently has been working on a new formula.
So Ran was super confused. She looked back at Conan and was like, “But.. but…” She gives up and believes that he’s really Kudo. Apparently this drug lasted longer than the original. He even took Ran out to an expensive dinner and said he had something important to say. Story goes was that the table they sat at was the same table many years ago, where a detective proposed to a beautiful woman. Apparently another murder happens and Ran excuses him so he can go investgate. Mystery was of course solved, but the effect on the pill apparently has ran out. So Kudo never got to say the important thing he wanted and returned to Conan form. Apparently the detective in the story was Kudo’s father, and he wanted to tell her that. I’m not sure if he was going to propose, but Ran got really upset when Kudo disappeared like that again. Conan was heart broken to see Ran like that and he passed on a message which he said Kudo told him to tell her.
The message was basically, “Wait for me. I’ll return, even if it kills me.”
