Despite the bad to average ratings, I thought the movie was pretty silly funny and pretty enjoyable.

I didn’t learn that the Pink Panther was actually a pink diamond until recently. I also didn’t know the Pink Panther cartoons were based on a movie, where the pink panther wasn’t the main character. I thought if there was a movie, the pink panther would be the main character as the inpsector. Also, I don’t ever remember liking the pink panther cartoons when I was small, cause I had no idea what was going on and it was done in a noir type of style.
Anyway, I’m not sure what the original pink panther movies were about, but this one was about a top inspector promoting a somewhat arrogant and clumsy officer to inspector so that the media would follow him around, while he found the culprit on his own and then claim the medal of honor. However, through luck and his charm, this clumsy inspector finds his way through the web and finds the culprit and reveals him and embarrasses the original inspector.
There wasn’t much of a storyline, but it was silly fun.
