English Essay Writing Experiment

sorry about not updating yesterday. was sitting in my chair and fell asleep. woke up and dragged myself to bed. think it was one of the earliest days i went to bed and it’s probably also one of the rare tuesdays i’m not going to take a nap after cs70.

Southwest Rapid Rewards

started working on my project today, but didn’t get much done. tomorrow looks much brighter tho. but today looked bright yesterday also. sigh… went to Barney’s today with liam, lydia, and cunndogg. they’ve got pretty good burgers and shakes. price is cheaper than mel’s too! too bad it’s sorta not within walking distance, but liam’s got a car. ^_^x

Was browsing through fatwallet when i was saw this: ~~link~~. i find it funny and a bit discriminatory against obese ppl. but then again, i wouldn’t want to be the one sitting squashed between 2 of these ppl. i was thinking about this when i suddenly realized how this can help us! (especially for people flying home multiple times between Oakland and Los Angeles). for those that don’t have a rewards card, GET ONE. for those that do have one, read on. many of you might fly multiple times per year back home, but you NEED 4 round trips to get a rewards ticket and your pts expire after one year. Lets say you plan on flying home 3x within a year. so close to getting a rewards ticket, but yet so far. Since they CAN’T discriminate you from being un-obese, you can buy 2 tickets and rack up twice the points, since you are buying 2 tickets home and both are under your name, and the only condition that qualifies you for the points is actually making the trip. Some of you might think i’m crazy. i mean why pay for an extra seat when all you get is one extra round trip, which actually just cancels what you just paid for. well, here’s the thing. these rewards ticket allow you to fly ANYWHERE within a year (anywhere southwest flies that is). if you plan on “giving it away” (~~example~~). i believe the link says enough. here’s my calculation: 4 round trip homes = $75/round trip * 4 = $300. amount you get for giving this away: ~$300. It’s almost like southwest actually PAYS you to fly! of course you have to get on during their promotions and right now, round trips from OAK to LAX is only $37.50 (including tax and security fees) each way. hope this helps ^_^x

well, in that same thread, we had a college pride thingy going on. damion mentioned that cal’s going to kick USC’s butt, and then some guy thought that was the funniest joke. well, i agree that our team sucked last year, but they’re having quite a good comeback with their new coach. but worse of all, i recall some friend of mines from ucla sent me this ~~video clip~~. If you’re from USC, DON’T CLICK THE LINK! I apologize for anyone that goes to USC that comes to my webpage. i know it’s inappropriate, but each school’s got one, right?

Today was anime harvest galore! racked in some good anime today, especially Prince of Tennis – 41 (they’ve finally hit the semi-finals! yes!!!) and of course Dragon Drive – 9! that cute dragon has returned! ^_^x

Being John Malkovich – Review

worked on cs61b hw today. haveta start on the stupid project due next friday starting tomorrow.

i know my English grammar isn’t particularly awesome as several friends have pointed out. but then again, i see it as just adding to part of the humor you get from my entries. i mean you guys obviously don’t come here to read a well written essay. most of you are here to get some laughs, some fun, or just to kill time. ^_^x

tonite cunndogg and i watched ‘Being John Malkovich‘. the story made little sense to me and the plot was poorly planned/created. many things didn’t just work out, and there were many holes within the plot. the theory itself was understandable and i luved the puppet shows. in fact, here’s some extra ones for you to enjoy: ~~link~~.

Today Dragon Drive 8 was released and once again i got to see the cute dragon! w00h00! he’s so kawaii. wish i could own him as a pet. ^_^x

Sparkie’s Wedding Invitation

only 30 visits yesterday!!! you guys sure missed out a good one. well, i guess you can always go back and check the old news, but of course it’ll be ‘old news‘ and not fresh anymore. who likes to read old stuff anyway.

welp while i was talking to cunndogg, i recall another tidbit about krunk. i believe this was during 8th grade when krunk was formally invited to a wedding. sparkie and her fiancé (i forgot her irc handle) were getting married and everyone in #psx on irc.newnet.net was invited. well, not everyone but the ops and the voice cause we’ve became really good friends. the wedding was held @ SD and i really wanted to go. i even got formally invited with their invitation. not sure how many of you’ve been formally invited to a wedding before, but i received a really pretty envelope with lots of pretty stationary with a card that said, ‘Dear Toland Hon, you’ve been formally invited by someone and someone (replace those by the parents’ names of the bride) to attend the wedding ceremony of someone (sparkie) and someone (his fiancé). sparkie, volfman, and shortdog all wanted me to come (i was the co-founder of the channel @ the time). i actually still have these cards stuck away somewhere in my drawer @ home. next time i go home, i’ll give you guys a scan of it. ^_^x they said i was going to have a blast getting drunk. not sure if i would’ve really drank that time, but there was that possibility. however, the hard part was my parents. what was i going to say to them. some online friend was getting married and i was invited??? if i lied and said one of my real life friends was getting married, there will be reasonable doubt that i’m lying since i’m only in 8th grade and shouldn’t know anyone near the age of getting married. neway, i was really sad when i had to decline. sparkie even reserved a seat especially for me. after the wedding, me and volfman help designed a website that displayed all their wedding pix. not sure if that website is around anymore.

this has been a really bad week for me. even worse next week since i have a midterm and a project due on friday. skipped 2 classes this week. booooo. was working on cs70 hw this entire day. finally finished ~2am and turned it in (since soda’s right next to me; soda = cs building).

yesterday’s entry got a bit long, but i really wanted to tell you Hikaru no Go 48 is out! w00h00!

finally did my laundry today. whew! glad that’s over with.

Hikaru no Go – 47 was released yesterday (finally!!!). it’s been atleast 2 weeks. =(. anyway the story is getting even exciting now cause Hikrau is going to battle the MAN, and Sai is… well, don’t really want to ruin the story for you guys. i’m left hanging here too. i want to read the manga, however, if i do, then the anime itself no longer has any meaning to watch. i’ll just watch the anime and read the manga later. hehe. ^_^x

btw, for those who are going to Laura’s party this friday, it’s been rescheduled to the following friday or until further notice. ^_^x

Homework on Fridays

arggggh, i hate my cs61b hw. missed out seeba/milkman/lorie’s bbq tonite. was going to be a great reunion too! =( why does our professor have to torture us by making homework due on Fridays!?!?! does he automatically assume that eecs have no life? great teacher i’ve gotta say, but ahhhhhh! any, hw was due @ 12am so i BSed a couple of the questions and submitted it.

i watched ‘The Professional‘ today. great movie! but for some reason, i didn’t particularly liked the pedophile implications they kept on putting into the script. lots of tactics, strategy, and my favorite part was when that French guy (also in Wasabi – also a classic! saw it on JAL (japan airlines)) figured out how to escape. too bad the ending wasn’t… nah i won’t spoil it. hehe

someone pointed out that the prom link in my previous projects didn’t work and it has now been fixed.

amazon.com is awesome. i got my disney dvd 3pak (toy story, toy story 2, a bug’s life) for only $25! they also canceled my another order of mines and to make it up to me, gave me a $40 Gift Certificate. the order it self was only $25! sweet huh?

thanks to RIPFace for providing this ~~clip~~. it’s like Initial D but in real life! very skilled drivers. wish i had a car to try something like that. hehe. ^_^x

Every Anime Character

well, today is my favorite day besides saturday and sunday. well, i dont particularly like sundays much, but sleeping in is always fun. on thursdays, i only have one class. after 11am, i’m a free man. came back and took a nice long nap.

best part of the day was when liam came over and we went out for dinner @ some thai restaurant on solano. guy’s nite out again and we were just chatting (mostly gossips, but guy gossip is different from girl gossip, guys just say it to laugh, girls jot it in their brain either to spread or to use it as blackmail later on). of course, then there was trigger happy tv. awesome show.

welp, as promised, new doodles are up. so enjoy ^_^x. you’ll noticed that there’s one with color. it was by accident. my finger was bleeding and it made a red dot on the sheet. i was watching Samurai Deeper Kyo and the main character had red eyes, so i decided to take advantage of that color instead of my normal black&white doodles.

Suppers donated this link. It’s a 4meg picture so i might take some ppl awhile to download, but supposedly contains all the anime characters pre-1990 or even later.

Cell Phone Buzz

expected my day to be extremely boring. turned out pretty okay. i was first woken up @ 7am when natdogg had to leave. then i remember when andrew left and said something about leaving the dishes for him to attend to when he came home. then all was well until i heard my computer go BUZZZZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZZZZ. i was like oh shoot! don’t die on me!!!!!! was going to jump off my bed and see what was wrong, but suddenly realized it could be my cellphone. so i waited for awhile and it stopped. so bleh, i’m still sleeping, don’t bother me. an hour later, it came buzzing again. decided it was finally time to get up. i think this was around 1:30pm. got up to see my 2 missed calls. turns out to be liam. gave him a call back and he asked if i wanted to watch the 49’ers game together. i was like, “sure, why not.” however the game turned out to be a great disappointment with the broncos winning 24-14. sigh… i recently found out that CAL Bears (berkeley’s football team is doing great this semester) 3-0 so far. that’s 3 wins and not 3 losts.

for saturday nite, cunndogg and i dedicate it to 2 hrs of tv. 4 of our favorite show comes on back to back. comedy central presents .. “fudge! i bit too far into my nail, and now it hurts!!!” sorry got sidetracked there. anyway, comedy central presents “The Man Show”, “Crank Yankers”, “South Park”, and our favorite one of all: “Trigger Happy TV”. That show is so hilarious. You’ve really gotta see it to experience it. liam dropped by again after dinner and waited for his special someone to call him.

anyway, another thing that made my day was episode 7 of Dragon Drive is out. once again i got to see the cute dragon:

Remember 9/11

well, guys although my post is about 9/10, the day you are seeing this is probably on 9/11 so i just hope that everyone remembers what happened exactly 1 year ago. i remember exactly what went on that morning. the nite before was a normal nite where i probably stayed up till 5am watching anime. the next morning everyone in my suite was running around frantically. i didn’t bother getting up until my dad gave me a call around 9am and asked if i heard what was on the news. i said i heard something about meteors falling outta the sky. (hey, i wasn’t that far from the truth). he told me that the WTC has been crashed into with 2 jet-liners and looks like it will soon collapsed. i jumped outta my bed and went outside where everyone else was looking at the TV. sure enough there it was. that day was special. it help us realize that we were no longer inside a dream bubble, and made us realize how vulnerable we were. that day, every american put aside their worries and arguments and united for we stood as one country.

i’m in love… with another anime. Chibi is so cute!!! Just started watching this new anime and Chibi’s this little baby dragon:

sigh, i’m #1 on the wait list for my german class. hope i get in. hope i get in. *crosses fingers* but then i’m @ a dilemma where I need to catch up on 200pgs of reading. sigh… to attack or not to attack. if attack, you’re @ a disadvantage. if not attack, it’s giving up before even trying. sigh…

my friend crimsonangel posted up this link. warning: content may not be suitable for children under 17. in some way it’s disgustingly gross. in other ways, it’s hilarious what other parents post up on the reviews. oh yeah, i forgot to mention that the reviews are what you’re suppose to be checking out.
