Free Will

guess what!!! My kenshin dvds finally arrived. W00h00!!! I’m so happy. Me so happy. I’m so happy! ALSO: Didn’t have much idea so for the Pic of the Week, so I asked my friend liam to help me out. You should go check it out.

What is Free Will?
Recently my suitemates were debating if human’s have free will. The debate went somewhere along the lines of this:
Cunndogg: free will is basically our choices.
Liam: our decisions are altered depending on the environment and the past, therefore it’s not free will since factors can affect our decision.
Cunndogg: the fact he chose means it was free will. He could’ve chosen either one, and having that choice and making a decision equals to free will.
Liam: you don’t make a choice based on nothing. Like one day you decide you wanted to research on your religion that your parents had, you don’t just randomly do it, there must’ve been factors that affected you to make the decision. Say that Sam wants to learn more about his jewish background. Why? Probably because he was shown how rich the jewish culture was one day and that excited him. He wouldn’t go studying some other religion for no reason.
Cunndogg: the fact that he had a choice of researching and not to research is free will. He has the choice of going to study any religion he wants to, but factors just made it more likely that he’ll study jew because he was part jewish.
Liam: that’s the point I’m trying to make. Because he was part jewish and maybe he recently discovered more about his jewish background, he felt more inclined to study it which means it was not free will.
Cunndogg: I get what you’re saying, but I guess it all comes down to:

What is Free Will?

My psych teacher gave me this quote:
Transcend the past.
Transform the present.
Make the future.

Project Mischief

guess, what! I got myself another Hikaru no Go episode! Woohoo!!! Didn’t do much today. Mechy came over and we study psych some more. I have somewhat of a project going on right now. Still in process, nothing big, but I’ll let you guys know how it turns out. It’s called Project Mischief.

Talking about mischief, (I’ll use fake names again so they can remain anonymous). Mono and several friends wanted *something*. Well, what’s the best way to do it so it can involve the whole DC? Mono decided to instigate two suites which are big rivals by sending them a “declaration of war” to taunt them. How to pull this off Mono thought. Well, I’ll need somebody to do the dirty job. I think I’ll ask Hippo. Hippo agreed without hesitation to help. Hippo had no idea what he was getting himself into. After creating the perfect taunts, hippo delivers the message secretively. His covert op was a success! Until… both parties united. Who in the world would know that two rival suites can unite!!?!! They barge into hippo’s suite and found the evidence of the “war declaration” and now both suites are against hippo. Hippo calls Mono for backup, but Mono is going to get back to Hippo later. Hippo tries to contact the enemies, but all he got was swear words, threats, and a lot of cussing. Hippo’s shaking in his bed right now. The enemies were banging on the door, yelling @ hippo to open up, shooting stuff @ his window. What should Hippo do??? Give out the boss behind the stage (mono was extremely smart in choosing hippo as his ‘you know what’), or hold back until reinforcements arrived. I wonder if hippo can survive this…

Sai’s Sword

you can’t believe how happy I am right now!!! The new episode of Hikaru no Go just came out. Or should I say the new episodes. Yes!!! Just finished watching them and this episode was so good!

Wo? What just happened to a friendly game of GO? Watch it and find out! ^_^x. Ooooh, I’m so excited. The next episode is due out tomorrow! You can’t imagine how arduous the past several weeks has been with out Shindou to cheer me up.

I know I’ve stopped working on my beta interface for awhile. Stuff just came up and finals are coming. What was that? How do I have time to watch so much anime? Well, you see, anime is like candy, you never think you’re addicted to it, but those who deny it you can be certain are addicted. I’ve gone through 2 XXL bags of M&Ms in 1 month. Wow.

Welp, I was planning on telling a story today, but looks like I’m too tired right now. So I’ll save that for some day later. G’nite ^_^zzz @ 6:14am

Ending of Kanon

I just finished watching Kanon. The ending was so sad. *sniff*. A young man’s memory repressed and now when the bubble pops, he wishes the bubble would’ve popped sooner. This is the first anime I believe that has actually brought tears to my eyes (just like him):

@ 4am, I finally cracked the code, ie: finished my cs project. W00h00!!! The debugging took so long for just one simple function. Grrrrrr! But I’m happy now. Now onto 53 hw. Shoot, I forgot to jot down the hw assignment! (actually, I ditched all of this week’s lecture)

AHHHHHH! Don’t you hate when you get something working, the other part that was working before stopped!?!?! Hmmm, this actually applies to 2 things that happened to me today now that I think about it. First it was my CS project (just realized how my troubles today could relate to it). Remember the CS project I ditched last Friday, well, I had to do it today. Procrastination will only find it’s way back to haunt you even more. Was working on my CS Project writing Logo in Scheme. Everything went well. Got stuck for the longest time on one problem. Finally got it to work and then realized several of our codes in the beginning no longer worked. AHHHH! Too much data abstraction. Hopefully the part that was due on Monday wasn’t affected. As for the 2nd thing, it was my surprise. That you’ll haveta wait. Can’t ruin it now. Hehe. ^_^x

Was watching Prince of Tennis today, and saw this flash. The word Kenshin caught my attention and I decided to post it up. Nothing really special. Anime’s really good, but I can’t wait for more Hikaru no Go!!! Sigh…

Microsoft Mouse/Keyboard warranty

first to clear up some confusion. The midterm I missed was only optional (not to be graded, more like a practice MT). also, about the mouse, if you haven’t guessed it yet, yes I got it for free. You ever wonder why Microsoft mouse are so expensive? It’s because they usually have a 5year warranty and will ship a replacement w/o the hassle of you sending it back. I had a Intellimouse w/ Intellieye before, but they realized that was a bad model and discontinued it. Now instead, they upgraded mines to an Intellimouse Optical which has 2 extra buttons. Hehe. ^_^x

Went and got a free jamba juice today @ 9am. The wait time was ~1hr. skipped 4 classes today. Decided to sleep in and then woke up @ 3:30pm. I’m actually proud about what I accomplished today. Went to the dean’s office and found out my faculty advisor. Went to my faculty advisor and got my advisor code (for signing up for classes). Then I went to Physics Lab and completed it in 1hr (1/2 the time allotted). Wow!

Being Lazy

Sorry I didn’t update over the weekend. It was because I lost that hour and totally messed my schedule. Went to sleep @ 9:30am on Sunday morning. Anyways, gomen gomen. ^_^x

This weekend was weird, not just about the lost hour, but everything in general. I had no motivation to do anything besides entertain myself. ZERO hw was accomplished during the weekend. I spent the entire weekend watching anime and hanging out with friends:

Friday Night – Rewatched 13 episodes of Hikaru no Go with mecha.
Saturday – Went to In-N-Out for dinner and then headed to the beach. Beach was freezing cold, but I got tons of cool shots. Will post them up later.
Saturday Night – Continued my journey of Berserk (anime). I just realized how good the music is. Here’s some examples: earth | forces | gatsu. The anime series ended and I had to read the manga to continue the story. Realized my version of the manga wasn’t complete.
Sunday – Spent the entire day reading the Berserk manga. Boby bear came over later and I helped him with his CS project.

Btw, new episode of Hikaru no Go came out, and you know what that means. ^_^x

Fight

sorry about yesterday. Didn’t realized I forgot to upload my website to the server. Therefore I have 2 news for today.

Today was a really weird day. For the first time, I saw good friends fight. Not physical nor verbal, but internally. Actions that describe their internal feelings. Like over a TV, normally we just share and whoever is using it usually gets priority, unless they really need it. But some huge drama occurred today and some silent treatment and some bashing of others in front of others. Sigh…

Watched “Spirited Away” today. Really good anime. Another one of Hayao Miyazaki’s work. If you don’t know who he is, most of you should know his most famous work: Princess Mononoke (aka Mononoke Hime). PreyX found an interesting article about this. I think I just dug my own grave. ;p

I leave today’s news blank as a tribute to Kenshin. *sniff* Why did he have to… *sniff* I would just like to say Kenshin (Shinta) was a man of ideals and in some way my idol. “Life is a journey which one must learn to take by himself. Truth cannot be found by just one battle.”

I HATE MULTIVARIABLE CALCULUS!

Hikaru no Go – 19 came out last nite (I was so excited!!!!) and I was so going to watch it after it finished d/ling that I ran outta stuff to do. So a tornado called Toland (as liam depicted) came and did a massive spring cleaning to our common room. It feels a lot better and more comfortable to have a clean common area. Didn’t seem like I did much at the time but today I received a lot of thanks. Of course I watched HnG afterwards and went to sleep @ 6am.

Had to get up early this morning to mail off a package. The postal office experience just keeps getting better and better. I was 5th in line and it was my turn in less than 5 minutes. W00h00! Also had to change grading options for my psych class cause I just have too much on my hands right now.

I HATE MULTIVARIABLE CALCULUS! =( Spent 5 hrs doing some lousy hw on max and mins in the 3rd dimension. Why couldn’t they just teach us the LaGrange Factor and skip all the tedious work.

Picture of the week is ready to resume its proper glory. Although this weeks pictures didn’t come out too well, I believe most of u will enjoy them.

Also, 3 days ago on Saturday, I forgot to congratulate this year’s Mark Keppel Environment Science Fair team for carrying on our the tradition of winning 1st place. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
