I just bought a new song of iTunes: James Blunt – You’re Beautiful. You can check out the music video here or listen to a sample. Not too sure why I like this song, but I think it’s because of his voice. The tone and pitch is a bit different and it had a nice rhythm. Think I first saw this during the MTV Europe Awards 2005 and for some reason I kept thinking about the song last night and ended up buying it. Hehe.

For some reason, there was an explicit and clean version. So I looked up the lyrics and found out apparently, there was one bad word in it:

Turns out instead of saying fucking high, the clean version says flying high.

I probably mention I was a big fan of Gorillaz old song: Clint Eastwood. I’ve always thought they were a one-hit wonder, sorta like Chumbawamba – Tubthumper, but after the introduction of their new album Demon Days on iTunes, I learnt they were actually a virtual band.

I fell in love with Clint Eastwood (the song, not the person) because I really liked the the music video and had it play repeat on my comptuer non-stop. However, that was different with their new album. At first, I didn’t particularily liked their new album, but after hearing Feel Good Inc a few times, I found out that I really really liked it! You can listen to a sample here.I even bought it from iTunes a few months ago. Why do I bring up this up today? Welp, I posted the Feel Good Inc Live performace a few days ago that occured on MTV European Music Awards 2005 (How does a virtual band perform live? You’ll just have to watch it and see it for yourself). I was thinking since I fell in love with their old song through the music video, why haven’t I seen the Feel Good Inc music video and I found it on bittorrent: Feel Good Inc Music Video (direct download) . The music video was actually pretty good. Drawings were nicer than Clint Eastwood and songs catchy too. And guess what, it’s on replay right now. =)

Fatboy Slim – Weapon of Choice is one of the top 5 videos downloaded off of iTunes. Not exactly sure why someone would pay $2 for it when it’s free on the web. Though maybe the quality of the iTunes release is a bit higher, but not by much. You can watch the music video here. The song’s actually pretty catchy and Christopher Walken busts out some cool moves. Not sure if it was all performed by him though…

So I went to lunch today with Jeremy. While we were driving there, we heard a Journey song on the radio and we got into a conversation of 80’s music. Well, it was more like him talking and me listening since I really didn’t have much background in 80’s music besides the fact I like listening to them. I hope I got the year right at least and crossing my fingers that they aren’t really 70’s music.

One of the interesting topics that came up was the meaning behind some of these songs. The most famous song that has been confused to be a love song is Police – Every Breath You Take:

If you read the lyrics carefully, it’s a stalking song. He just got dumped and now he’s stalking her. And Jeromy brings up the fact it’s funny that many people play this song at their wedding.

Another song that came up during discussion was Billy Joel – Only The Good Die Young:

This was just a song about Billy Joel tryign to get into the pants of a Catholic girl. Haha.

For me, I just listen to music for the melody. The lyrics are just icing and if a songs good, I don’t really care for the lyrics.

Remember their one-hit wonder back in 1995 – The Bad Touch. If you still don’t remember, here’s part of their famous chorus:

Well, looks like Bloodhound Gang‘s back in town with another hit, though not as great as The Bad Touch in my opinion: Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo. The song’s pretty catchy and if you want, you can watch the music video here (NOT WORK SAFE).

So I was looking for something which I couldn’t find on iTunes or anywhere else online, so I ended up trying to use WinMX, but then I recall WinMX recent shut itself down and then I was sad. You can’t even download the software off their site anymore. Turns out there’s a group that’s trying to resurrect WinMX: TheSourcCode with help from P2P Zone.net. You can find the instructions here. Although the demise of FrontCode Technologies along with its WinMX.com homepage would not have been the end of the world, WinMX.com provided the all-important host cache server. This server provided the IP addresses to WinMX supernodes, thereby allowing clients entry to the network. With the WinMX.com domain eliminated, the network collapsed. That is unless of course someone establishes a new method of connecting to WinMX hosts. All you basically have to do is download that host file and append it to your current one (or overwrite it if you haven’t messed with it).

So I really like this new song I’ve heard (it’s probably pretty old). Yah, it was released in 2002. D-Note – Shed My Skin. You can hear a sample here.

There were several remixes which I didn’t particularily liked. The part I really like is the chorus:
