Her?

something very weird happened today. As I was sitting in Math53 lecture and doing my hw, suddenly a bunch (is that the correct word to use? Group? Band? Ponytail? Whatever) of hair came flying back and landed on my paper. I was going to ask that person to move it, but suddenly everything got weird. I looked up and for a slight moment, I thought it was her. Similar hair, similar ears, similar earrings, even similar clothes. Head was just a bit smaller though. For the remainder of the class, I was trying to catch a glimpse of her face, but she sat in front of me so it was difficult. When class was finally over and she turned around to get up, and to my disappointment, her face didn’t resemble hers at all. Oh well.

Now that I’ve talked about her, here’s a picture my friend goshtic sent me which I thought was a picture of a really cute & beautiful girl which somewhat resembles darryl’s roommate’s poster, but mines prettier.

For those System of a Down fans, my friend bahamut-x found a hilarious clip that I think you will enjoy.

Teknoman!

sorry about no update yesterday as I’m sure many of u were disappointed. Hmmmm, what did I do last night. Oh yeah! If you noticed, I’ve been offline for (let’s see, 6am to 6pm) a bit over 12 hrs. Been awhile since I did that. Had to defragment and benchmark my hds. Getting a new IDE/RAID controller in the next few days and need to test to see if I should swap my hds over to the new controller. (am I getting too technical here for u guys)

The long awaited monthly subscription of michelle’s life arrived yesterday. Yay!!!
As for March 3rd, it’s RANDY’S BDAY!!!

This really sucks, I had something in mind I was going to tell you guys and was planning to say it since yesterday, but never had a chance to type it up and now I can’t remember!!! This happens to me a LOT! Sigh… maybe I’ll remember it later.

I’ve updated my Links page. The pictures should be nicer and added 2 more friend’s page to it. If u want your page linked, feel free to email me. Contact information is on the top of this page.

After talking to liam for awhile, the stuff I wanted to talk about finally came back to me. Actually 2 things came back to me. #1 was if anyone watched cartoons during their junior high or late elementary school, they’ve gotta remember Teknoman! Awesome series and I just d/led episode 1-38 last nite. Quality is eh, but sure brings back memories. Watched the first episode with Liam last nite. 2nd thing was that u know those nail clippers which comes with mini swords and u take them and let your stuff animals fight with? I finally knew how to use them! I’ve known them to be can openers but all I did before was punch holes into the can and pour it out. (if u didn’t know, I’m talking about that hook sword). It’s really cool cause I opened the enter can lid of a can of tomato soup yesterday.

Well back to anime time ^_^x

DVD Drive!

yesterday was actually a pretty cool day. First I went to my psych study. It was testing our reaction toward death. Before continuing reading, think about this question to yourself: How do you feel about your personal death?

Guess that was enough space for you to think, hehe. Well, I personally had a somewhat positive response to it such as that it was a natural part of life and I’m not afraid of it, but because I know it will happen to me someday that I try to live everyday to my fullest. The thing they were testing for was how we generally respond to negative or positive events. Death I would presume is a negative event, but they are finding more and more support that many don’t view it as so, but instead many view it as a positive event. I personally don’t want to die, but I really don’t have any grudge against it. Maybe it’s like that commercial on tv where they say babies learn how to walk, see, talk, and love when they’re small, but when do they learn to hate? Hehe, I’ve always wondered when do we really acknowledge that we will die someday. Is it innate? Or were we taught it through the many means of media nowadays? Just something interesting to ponder on.

There wasn’t much to do on a Friday nite. Most of my suite was out… Going to retract my previous statement. I GOT MY DVD DRIVE!!! Installed it and it works perfectly. Did I tell u guys I got bought a dvd drive 2 days ago? Really fast shipment. Now I can’t wait for my dvd’s to come. Hehe. Here’s the list I bought: Armageddon, Blade, Deuce Bigalow, Terminator 2, Twister. Sigh, can’t believe they ran outta Fight Club. One day… I’ll get you Fight Club, just wait for that one day!

For the first time of the week, I got to see Martin. It was a fun little get-together and we went to dinner afterwards. As I thought my high-point of the day was when I got my DVD Drive, I was so wrong. My friend Lori went home and brought her car over. So I went cruising last nite in a Saab convertible with 2 other friends + Lori. Really really fun. Blasting music @ 90dB (+/- 5dB), everyone was staring @ us. First we went to some donuts place and got donuts holes, just fried and glazed and still HOT, not warm, HOT. Then we went to Safeway (Vons in SoCal) and bought booze and I got my Downy balls! Hehe. Really interesting night.

Conditioner?

today I received my shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and deodorant from Walgreens! Yay!!! Have I told u since I’ve started using conditioner, I’ve been obsessed with it? So I opened my conditioner and started to sniff it and the only way to get a large wiff is by squeezing the bottle. One squeeze, not enough. Squeeze harder, not enough. One more try… BLECK! Out comes the conditioner onto my nose. Hehe.

My back was a lot better today. Just remembered I forgot to scan my doodles from my midterms, so I went down to the RCC today and quickly scanned them. I hope you’ll enjoy them. The happy face on the computer wasn’t drawn by me, but was drawn by my lab partner Alice today during discussion.

There’s a sale on DVDs @ Playstation.com (86 dvds for $9.99 including Fight Club). Too bad they ran outta Fight Club when I got there. Bought 5 for a total of $58.31 shipped. Resale value of these 5 are up in the $70-$90 total.

Btw, I missed taking the picture by about 3 minutes. If I was just there 3 minutes earlier, I could’ve taken it. Maybe tomorrow if I remember. Wish me luck guys! ^_^x

My aching back!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! My aching back. Had a back-breaking day (literally). Woke up today and my bad was so sore (neck down to tail bone). Took some Tylenol and this is the first time it has failed me. Didn’t help at all! When I was in class, I tried to turn around to look at the clock to check the time. Hurt so bad that I had to turn my whole body around to do it. Guess I slept in a bad posture.

Today’s the first sign of good news. Entering my discussion expecting to fail my last midterm, but thank god I passed!!! The grader was also very lenient cause I found parts where I could definitely have taken points off, but he/she didn’t.

As for the picture of the week. I’m still working on it. Due to special circumstances, it’ll either be up in the next few days or it’ll just have to wait till next week. Sorry about that. But at the mean time, I have a temporary pic of the week up. I hope you guys will like it. It’s not much, but it’s sorta pretty.

Sigh, halfway through updating this website, I fell asleep as dead as a mule (is that the saying? Or is it a different animal). Didn’t even get to check a card a very special friend sent me. However, I just bought another DVD-Drive and an EIDE Controller so I can have a dvd player on my system. Yah, I know, a waste of money, but that’s me! ^_^x

one of the saddest days in my education history

today marks one of the saddest days in my education history. Never had I been so depressed over grades. This may well be the worst week I’ve ever had in Berkeley. I may be cold or abnormal for the past few days and even into next week. Please disregard that me for I’m having an internal turmoil and brain isn’t functioning in normal mode. Sigh, I basically failed all my midterms. Well, I’ve gotten hope and determination and WILL BE WELL PREPARED for Round 2! BRING IT ON!!!

Was hoping to bring u a better story today, but not really in the mood. Maybe tomorrow. =(

Actually, I’ll post up a very this really cute clip of a kitty. Been on my hard drive for some time and now I don’t even recall where I got it from. Hope you’ll enjoy it. ^_^x

Frying an Egg on a CPU!

we’ve always claimed the cpus (especially cyrix and amd) can get so hot it can fry an egg. However, not many ppl have actually seen this happen. Thanks to panzer for providing this thread: How to fry and Egg on an XP!. Really awesome post! ^_^x

Thanks to damion, I got myself a copy of Warcraft 3 beta! W00h00!!! Since warcraft 2 and starcraft, this game has been the most anticipated game on my list. The game is awesome and was completely worth the wait. The 3d textures is extremely nice, game play is smooth and the AI got smarter!!! Besides humans and orcs, there are now the undead and nightelves which I find very interesting. Was attacking with an alive tree. Reminds me of Pocahontas! Lol! Anyway, that game kept me busy for several hours and kept me from doing hw. Bad krunk bad krunk. ;p

I just realized how great it is doing math @ 5am is. Just finished watching Prince of Egypt again (and I do recommend watching it for it is one of the best animated story with an awesome plot). During the movie, I had no idea what was going on and I never did to begin with (that’s why I got a C on my first midterm). HOWEVER, after the movie, I sat down and started blasting mp3s in my headphones and I finished 2 sections within 30 mins with complete understanding (that’s 11 outta the 17 problems I was assigned for hw). Now I realized why I always do hw late @ nite and not during the afternoon/evening. I guess this is the time I have the clearest state of mind. Too bad social traditions say it’s good to sleep early and rise early. Sigh.. gotta wake up @ 10am tomorrow and it’s 6am already. ~ciao~

Psych midterm answers are posted and I just scored myself a 24/50 (F!). yuck. Muy muy yucky!!! Hopefully everyone in class didn’t do too well and lower the curve. (big hope there tho). Thanks to mechy: article, hilarious article by Berkeley’s humor magazine Squelch. Describes exactly how I feel ;p.

Some problems came up with my picture of the week and seems like either it’s going to be late or I’ll have to change my original plans. Hopefully, I’ll have something nice by Wednesday, or maybe I can go through my archives! Hehe.

Hikaru no Go

as u may have noticed, I haven’t been saying anything of substance lately. But I’ve been getting huge response from posting 2 threads on my favorite 2 forums. Well, one favorite, the other is just a regular source. (u can find them on the left under Hot Deals) I reached a record high of 84 unique visitors in 1 day and this is just one small dinky website. Sorry I wasn’t able to provide any useful substance to anyone.

Today Pikachu and I decided to watch anime and while we were watching Hikaru no Go (english summary), I thought our pose was very cute. Hikaru no Go is an awesome anime I just got into. There are currently 15 episodes out (first released by soldats, now by elite-fansubs). Here’s some pix (pic1 pic2) from the latest episode. Sai’s (the guy with the tall hat, long hair, and white suit) my favorite character! He’s so ~KAWAII~. Hey! Green looks good on this purple background! Thought it was going to blend in like the red above. I’m also providing the mp3s to the opening and closing theme, respectively. They’re also addicting ;p.

I just realized that yesterday wasn’t Sunday. Lol. Posted the answer on the wrong day. Oh well, moved it up here so not to confuse others. Went to sleep again at 7am and woke up at 5pm. Just loved the weekends. ^_^x

As for the riddle, the correct ages of the 3 granddaughters are 2, 2, 9. Here’s why:

you have to assume old man #2 knows the house number
he tries every combination to get 3 numbers to add up to the street number and the multiply to be 36
if you find all the combinations of 3 numbers to equal 36, you find that the sum of all the combinations are different besides 2,2,9 and 1,6,6 which adds up to 13.
the only reason why old man #2 asked if old man #1 forgot to tell him something was because apparently it landed on one of those 2 combinations, or else knowing the street number and 36, he would’ve been able to guess what the 3 ages the 3 granddaughters were.
by telling him that his oldest granddaughter has blue eyes literally means he only has one oldest age granddaughter.
so the answer is 2,2,9

Good news to computer maniacs that live near me @ home! Fry’s has finally opened a store in City of Industry. Supposedly only a 5 minute drive from my house. Many of you may have had bad experiences with Fry’s, but this store is new meaning… the stuff they have aren’t repackaged refunded items!!! W00h00!! ^_^x

Never argue with an idiot

sorry about not updating last nite. Was busy with my CS project and a party was going on when I came back. It was a crazy night, everyone was drunk, we were playing truth or dare (u should’ve seen me belly-dancing, it was horrible but made everyone laff ;p). went to bed @ 7am and had a good long sleep till 5:30pm today.

Thanks to mandalayx for providing the link to these hilarious rules of IM.

As I was reading a thread from Anandtech, I came upon this quote: “Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.” Thought it was really funny and worth mentioning to those who actually read my logs.

CONGRATS ON Mark Keppel’s 2002 Science Olympiad Team for making state!!!!
Last I heard, they were 5th in regional but who knows? I heard that the remaining events that haven’t been scored were areas they believed they did well in!!!! YAY!!

Ages of the GrandDaughters

so tired. Been running all day on 2 hrs of sleep since this morning @ 8am. Not going to talk much today, just a riddle I got from a CS TA during our midterm yesterday. Supposedly when u get interviewed by Microsh*t, the first question they ask you is a riddle. So here goes:

Two old men were sitting on a porch. Old man #1 asked old man #2 to guess the ages of his 3 granddaughters. The sum of their ages is equal to the street number of this house. The product of their ages is equal to 36. Old man #2 began to ponder and then looked up and said, “You forgot to tell me something, didn’t you?” Old man #1 thought for a second and said, “Oh yeah! My oldest granddaughter has blue eyes.” Old man #2 then immediately gave the correct answer.

How old were the 3 granddaughters?

(answer will be posted on Sunday night)
